Winter Break has officially begun! For this break, I will be travelling to Hong Kong for 3 weeks with my mom and my high school best friend, Adrienne. As for blog updates, I plan to blog daily with photos. I will be also compiling footage for several vlogs later, but they will not be edited and released until January. For the documentation of this trip, I'm hoping that my blog posts will show you a bit of my childhood, my hometownand how they affected my current identity as an immigrant from Hong Kong to the US. The posts will be a way for you to see the city through my perspective. This morning, I took a 7am flight from the Twin Cities to Seattle, which meant that I left campus at 4:30am. Originally, my flight was scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) morning; however, Delta was offering to move people's flights earlier due to the impending winter storm in Minnesota (there's heavy snow accumulation). I decided to only change my first flight from MSP to Seattle and keep my flight unchanged from Seattle to Hong Kong tomorrow so that I can fly together with my mom and Adrienne (they're flying from Atlanta to Seattle). I spent today (and will spent tonight) at the Doubletree across the street from the airport to rest. I have been unable to sleep for the past few days due to finals stress and the ridiculous heat in the dorm, so I just checked in early, napped, and watched shows and YouTube videos. Nothing interesting- I will update again for Day 1 in Hong Kong soon! Bonus photos!I don't remember if I mentioned that we have a quote wall in the dorm room. Each sticky note is filled with ridiculous/weird/funny things that Jennifer and I say. For the holidays, we used washi tape and turned the bland quote wall into a quote tree (courtesy of an article that I found while browsing magazines at the MSP airport before Montreal)
