So now, here I am saying goodbye to my dorm room and Minnesota for the next three weeks. See you in January! I'll miss my second home :)

Three and a half months have passed with a blink of an eye, and I will be flying back to Atlanta in 10 days for Winter Break! I'm really looking forward to a break with academics (I have a ton of reading for Bonner though) and eating good food! I only have two more days of classes and finals are next week. Out of my four classes, I have a policy paper final for my FYC, a play analysis paper final for Spanish, a regular exam for Geology, and a take-home final for Calculus. Surprisingly, I'm not too stressed because I think I have developed better time management skills and I have been getting a decent amount of sleep still (although I had insomnia a few nights ago, which somewhat messed up my sleeping schedule for three days)... 7 days until I'm done with all of my finals! Jennifer and I are both flying back home on the 19th, so we planned to go off-campus and explore the Twin Cities for the last 2 days that we are here. We bought tickets to go see the Blue Man Group in Minneapolis on the night of the 18th! Last Friday, Jennifer and I decided to try another Korean restaurant on Snelling Ave, Mirror of Korea. The restaurant played all of the Kpop songs that both of us liked and we really enjoyed our time there for lunch! (Side note: I actually converted Jennifer to K-pop about a month into the semester. She is now a hardcore Big Bang fan. I officially have someone to obsessed over songs with!) Jennifer ordered her favorite bibimbap and I decided to go with a tofu stew. The ahjumma there was very nice and talkative :D Since I semi-ordered my food in Korean, she asked if I was Korean. Haha! I take that as a compliment for my pronunciation. Anyway, we took a celebratory photo of the food to commemorate one of the most stressful weeks this semester. Nearing the end of the semester, Macalester's president, Brian Rosenberg, invited our FYC to dinner at his house (benefits of having the president as your FYC professor!) Here's a group photo of us after eating catered food from Shish! It may have been a Sunday night, but all of us enjoyed each other's company :) I think our class became pretty close and I managed to make some friends that I hope will last throughout my years at Mac. Neither Jennifer nor I have planned anything this weekend in hopes that we will be productive and end the semester strong! I'm looking forward to Skyping one of my aunts and uncles on Saturday morning and make that my motivation for finals week! In addition, Jennifer's dad generously offered to pay for steak for the both of us, and we are planning to go eat out once we finish all of our finals! Food is such a great incentive for me :D
Depending on my fall semester grades, I may or may not share them with you here on my blog. So if I don't share them, you'll know that my grades were mediocre (well, more like not all As). |
